Strength for the weak

Isaiah 40:29–31 · 38 min

God does not shame the faint. He gives them power.

Our purpose begins here: strengthening the weak. Isaiah does not pretend we are already eagles. He starts with those who have no might, and he puts power where there was none.

Weakness in this house is not a secret to be managed. It is the condition in which the Word does its actual work. We do not cheer people into pretending. We teach them until their legs hold.

If you arrived tired, you did not arrive late. You arrived at the first line of our commission.

A quiet reflection
